Summary Poodle lady Rosetta finds the corpse of European dog show champion Jacko in the robbers-ransacked home of rich, recently deceased beverages dealer Willuweit, who hired ex-con Winfried Larsen to mind the mansion and the dog, his sole heir. Larsen is missing, his blood on site. Neighbor, notary and fellow poodle lover Frieda Lofelt manages the estate trust, ingrate daughters Anne and Lisa Willuweit who refused to take him in when ill being reduced to legally guaranteed shares. Even Jacko's corpse disappears. The team works out the notary helped scheme with a suspiciously recent life insurance and the church gardener links both disappearances.
