Summary Katrin Börensen notices two schoolmates of her own kid erring confused. Entering the eldest Christina Reimann 's home, she finds the mother Maria's corpse wrapped in a carpet in the basement, not a fatal fall but murder. Christina (13) flees, abandoning kid brother Manuel Reimann. They were on bad terms with the mother and abusive lush father without custody Walter Budelmann, who left home and recently lost visiting right but is too drunk to remember anything from the fatal night.
