Summary Ralph Kubik who participated in a holdup and stabbed to death his girlfriend has spent 12 years in prison and now he has been released.During his stay in prison he had a correspondence with Rachel Wrede.As soon as he came out of the prison, his accomplice and brother Markus Kubik meets him and asks him for his part of booty: he gave him an ultimatum for 24 hours.Then Ralph goes to a the boarding house Izmir.He calls Rachel Wrede ,they begin to speak together , but the husband of Rachel appears: Rachel asks his husband to let her alone and says Ralph that she will look for him at the boarding house.There they meet together and Rachel says that she has a surprise for him.They go to a house by the lake who belongs to a friend of Rachel, Beate Kantor.Somebody has followed them.Rachel goes back to the boarding house to look for the personal belongings of Ralph.In the boarding house Rachel noticed that somebody committed a burglary in the room of Ralph.At the house by the lake Beate Kantor has come and was speaking with Ralph when suddenly somebody shot against Ralph and killed him.
