Summary Sybille and Petrus Derera are divorcing: in the audience with their lawyers Sybille makes a proposal: she is not interested in the painting of René Magritte which has a value of 1,3 millions DM and then asks her husband to increase her monthly alimony with 1.000 DM each month.Her husband accepts immediately the proposal. Later Sybille asks her husband to lend her his apartment for some days (because some workers are restoring her apartment).Ptrus goes to Birmingham,Sybille goes to her lover and forger, Werner Thiele: in the absence of Petrus, Werner will make a copy of the original painting.Petrus has to come back to Munich sooner,nevertheless Werner managed to make the copy that Sybille will hang in the apartment of Petrus.Petrus doesn't notice anything.Sybille has gone to Paris to see a painting handler Jacques Pinot and shows him picture of the painting.Pinot comes to Munich, see the copy in Sybille's apartment and says that that need an expert's report.So they travel to Berlin where an expert says the the painting is really a copy.Sybille comes back to Munich.On the next morning Sybille is found dead in her apartment,someone strangulated her.
