Summary An unknown woman meets before a college the 11 years old Markus and gives him an envelope: he must return to college and give the envelope to Karsten Winterberg.The math professor receives the envelope and gives it to Karsten who opens it and begins to reed the contents.Immediately Karsten leave the school room.Then he calls his parents to tell that he will absent for some days, travels by hitchhiking to Munich where his uncle Leo Kress lives.He Explains to Leo the story and shows him the contents of the envelope: newspaper clippings about a boy that was abandoned in the railway station in Cologne 1970.Karsten is sure that he is his own case.Leo Kress calls his sister Gudrun Winterberg in Stuttgart to tell that Karsten is in Munich,she answers that she and her husband are now ready to tell the truth to Karsten.Then Leo receives a call from his colleagues ; he has to go out, a man was stabbed and the police finds false dollar banknotes.The stabbed man died and so Leo Kress returns to his apartment with Henry and Gerd and they notice that Karsten went away.
