S2.E13 ∙ A Once Fluid Man

Best Buds is a buddy comedy characterizing the relationship between lifelong friends, Brian and Jake, who have always dreamed of hitting the big time with that next game changing business idea. Not one of their plans, or should we say hare-brained ideas, have panned out. Is that all about to change with an unexpected, and possibly illegal, business opportunity? In the world of cannabusiness, what could possibly go wrong?

After spending 18 years in imprisonment for killing his wife to spare her the suffering from an incurable disease, Carlos is finally released during a prison riot. At first, he refuses to leave, because his freedom means facing a painful past. Meanwhile, Margarida, who lives in Castelo Branco with her grandmother, moves to Lisbon to study veterinary medicine. She starts exploring her unknown mother's past, without knowing that she and Carlos are more connected than she could imagine.

In the periodic drama, which occurs at a family-run public bath in Tokyo the question of transitioning the business to the children comes up. The couple's son works at a white collar job and does not wish to take the business over. A series of comic occurrences happen at the bath in the meantime.

Three close friends realize, at the age of 40, that maybe it's time to think seriously about getting married. Employed by an advertising agency, each struggles with his own weaknesses. One consistently strikes out with women, while the second can't seem to break his attachments to his mother, and the third is an unabashed playboy. This adult comedy exposes the humorous views and sobering misconceptions of marriage by single men today.
