Summary Nate Phelps, a former professional football player, has robbed a bank in Bakersfield, California, and killed a man. Phelps' accomplice is caught but Phelps remains at large and heads to Los Angeles, where he grew up. Erskine and Colby, already on the West Coast, take charge of the investigation.
