Summary Compo decides to take his bicycle out of storage, although it is in need of some basic safety repairs. The spectacle of Compo careening downhill without brakes inspires Foggy's inventive side. He enlists Wesley's help in building an invention to improve general bicycle safety, which of course Compo gets to test. Howard is worried that Pearl is attracted to a taller man, and tries several futile methods of increasing his height. Auntie Wainwright is keen on getting Smiler to make a delivery so she can collect on the sale, but Smiler becomes hesitant when he learns who the customer is. Glenda persuades the ladies to have a picnic lunch, but of course with Edie behind the wheel, no one enjoys the drive in the country. Their picnic spot is determined when they simply refuse to travel any further, and they soon find that the location is not as secluded as they might have wished.
