Summary Thorne is still finding it difficult to relate to people in a meaningful way. As she is liked by everyone, he turns to Sarah for advice. She tells him to be himself, which he interprets as "don't lie". As that tactic offends many people, Thorne decides that he needs to practice his people skills with people he doesn't care if he pisses off. Much to Sarah's chagrin, he chooses to join Sarah's quilting circle, as he doesn't care if he never sees the women in the group or sew ever again. But when one of those two factors change, he faces a conundrum. Meanwhile, there is a vacancy on the mosque board. Some of the women want Rayyan to fill the vacancy, which no one has expressed interest in taking. She doesn't consider it until Baber tells her that a woman can't be on the board. After some strategic moves on both the pro and anti-women camps, Amaar learns that the mosque constitution does not allow women board members. Amaar feels he has to uphold the constitution as it represents the wants of the community in the community run mosque. Amaar and Rayyan have to reconcile their personal feelings versus what's happening with the mosque board.
