Summary Granville has bought a huge job lot of herbal remedies which he cannot shift but, taking his cue from a salesman who advocates the use of a gimmick, advertises them as Old Mother Hemlock's Ancient Remedies and persuades Gastric to drag up as the lady herself. The customers are unimpressed until Old Mother Hemlock appears to mend Madge's broken car, after which her healing hands cause an increase in sales of the previously unsellable commodity.
