S1.E3 ∙ The Child Behavior Episode

A century ago a nanny brings a 6 y.o. to his wealthy grandmother in Copenhagen. His father is too busy and his mother has just died. He loves his nanny but hates his grandmother, who cares more about appearances than for him.

There are 10 million games in the naked city - board games, mind games, gender games, drinking games, video games, gaming the system, mating games, role-playing games, and games of chance. A nuclear scientist practices for her baton competition. Video game addiction fractures a lesbian couple. An alienated office worker plays games of life and death. Everyone plays games, whether they know it or not. We humans have come up with many ways to pass the vacant hours. Two actors try on different roles in order to connect to their characters. An alienated dwarf with a gambling addiction talks to his bookie, an equally alienated creature, who is late for yoga. A group of friends gathers to play a board game and gossip. Some hospital orderlies go into a back room to play a drinking game with an imaginary ball. What draws them all together? Each game provides us with a glimpse into our diversions - light and dark.

The Tramp Schirmflicker is on his way through the snowy forest in the Swiss Alps. Suddenly some hunters shoots a rabbit, which falls dead to the ground in front of him. He grabs the rabbit and runs away before the hunters with their dogs can reach it. Later, as he is is eating the rabbit another Tramp, Korber turns up. Sharing the rabbit with a glass of whiskey, they celebrate their new friendship. Schirmflicker is on his way to Hinterau, where he want to find his lost Love Rosi. In spite of the cold and the snowstorm, Schirmflicker wants to reach Hinterau in any case in this night. Next morning Schirmflicker is gone and Korber follows his Buddy's path and finds him frozen in the snow, close to the border stone between two tiny villages Vorder- and Hinterau. Since no village wants to pay the funeral for the tramp, his body is moved over the border to each village several times, until a testament is found, with an amount of 1000 Swiss Francs for a Christian funeral and a big feast dinner for the mourning guests.

Solange is unhappy. She's a meter maid in Tours, working in the rain, subject to verbal abuse from those she cites. Her husband Patrick is consumed by the work of finishing their new house: carpet, tile, faucets. He's also a hothead, subjecting Sonange to tantrums. While she's often quiet and withdrawn, she longs to be a singer. When by chance she meets Mylène, an accomplished, beautiful Parisian writer she admires, Solange gives her a demo tape. Mylène is encouraging, a friendship of sorts develops, and when Solange despairs after a series of personal, emotional setbacks, she heads for Mylène's doorstep in Paris. Does a singing career await, and what about Patrick?
