WELL? is a video essay about an African saline well, terrorism, and marriage. How would you know if your husband were a terrorist? My husband replaced me on a dhow expedition off Somalia, where he interviewed Kubwa whose sister married the mastermind of the US embassy bombing in Nairobi. My husband brings back footage of Kubwa talking only about a saline well poisoning his village. I'm furious. WELL? reveals how little we understand about our most intimate relationships, whether in marriage or in the culture of terror.

While a group of reporters/journalists from various news outlet set themselves on an intense chase to track down a potential source relying on anonymous tips and micro research, their reputations, popularity, and reporting, sets a chain of conflicting encouraging information to the public.

Many women suffer abuse, most need their husband's permission to leave the house, use health services or contraceptives. Since men are the decision makers at all levels, educating and involving Afghan men is vital for women's access to health services and reducing maternal and child mortality. Deteriorating security has also become a major problem in women's access to health. 'Where are the men?' is a short documentary about how ordinary Afghan men are an asset and could contribute to women's health in Afghanistan.
