WELL? is a video essay about an African saline well, terrorism, and marriage. How would you know if your husband were a terrorist? My husband replaced me on a dhow expedition off Somalia, where he interviewed Kubwa whose sister married the mastermind of the US embassy bombing in Nairobi. My husband brings back footage of Kubwa talking only about a saline well poisoning his village. I'm furious. WELL? reveals how little we understand about our most intimate relationships, whether in marriage or in the culture of terror.

On May 2003 the US NAVY retreated from the island of Vieques after decades of struggle and opposition from its inhabitants. More than 10 years after their questionable departure, the islanders are demanding the US Government to fully cleanup and give back the terrains that were used for testing weapons and training soldiers. Unsatisfied with the little commitment of the Armed Forces to assume responsibilities, the 'Viequenses' face a new struggle for justice within their lands.

Despite some improvements, Afghanistan still has world's second highest maternal mortality rate. Afghanistan is a strongly male-dominated society. Many women suffer abuse, most need their husband's permission to leave the house, use health services or contraceptives. Since men are the decision makers at all levels, educating and involving Afghan men is vital for women's access to health services and reducing maternal and child mortality. Deteriorating security has also become a major problem in women's access to health. 'Where are the men?' is a short documentary about how ordinary Afghan men are an asset and could contribute to women's health in Afghanistan.
