Summary Prince Roland wants to prove that their kingdom is ready to challenge the Outriders. He issues an open challenge to a sharpshooting contest, which Colt accepts and wins. King Jaray shows the Star Sheriffs his new weapon, which he hopes will defeat the Outriders once and for all. He and Roland go searching for the Outriders and tell the Star Sheriffs they don't need any help from them. Meanwhile, RAMROD gets a distress call that New Dallas is under attack. The Star Sheriffs arrive, but find the settlement in ruins. Saber, Colt, and Fireball search for survivors, but get ambushed by the Outriders. They try to call April, who is still with RAMROD, but their signal is being jammed. April then comes under attack by Gattler and his fleet.
