Sam, Robert, Richard, Kevin, and Jared comprise a group of movie-loving friends / roommates who become fed up with both their dead-end day jobs and the production industry, and decide to raise the funds themselves to produce an indie film based on their script. All 5 twenty-somethings navigate the streets of Minneapolis on a sunny, Summer day. Each will soon find out that, unlike movie plot lines, life is full of loose ends...

Lord Henry Chelford, hiding behind a dignified face and the uncertain step of an old man the signs of former worldliness; his younger brother Richard Chelford, radiating manly confidence, concern for the family tradition and its immaculate shield; the Lord's young, fragile fiancee, Jane Harper, her generous aunt in all things, nephew Arthur, a London barrister and a man without scruples, Lord's secretary, the attractive blonde Mary Brown, Dr Freeman, a doctor always on the verge of boldly correct handling of situations. There is also the old butler, knowing all his master's wishes and their true content. These are just some of the players in the plot, the gears of which are to be set in motion by Detective Sergeant Putler of Scotland Yard.

Pulle and Kippe are burglars. They want to break into the apartment that is directly above the safe they want to rob next, but its inhabitants never leave and argue continuously. Repairing their relationship is the first step in the plan.
