Summary Chiquita has had enough of being treated like a child! She hits the streets of Paris, and freedom! With Little Jack, she joins the 'Thieves Sanctuary' whose half mad 'King' - Melchior - puts her to the test. Caught up in a diabolic spiral, the young gypsy finds herself trapped, forced to betray Fracasse and disfigure the King of France! Although wounded, Fracasse just manages to get her out of Melchior's clutches before she goes beyond the pale.
