S1.E22 ∙ The Mystery of the Dancing Ghost

Born in the Chinese state of Lu in 551 B.C., Confucius was raised by his mother after his father died when he was only three. He marries at 19 and enters the service of the local nobility. At 32, he becomes tutor to the Prince of Lu's children, eventually becoming a politician at 51. His career peaks are the roles of Lu's justice minister and eventually prime minister. The land prospers for four years, but Confucius grows disenchanted with court intrigues. For the following 12 years, he wanders the neighboring states, offering advice to their rulers.

Qart Qadesh is the true story of the Canaanite city of Qadesh from 1330-25 BCE in the time of King Tut. Qart Qadesh begins, logically in the city of Qadesh. In the palace, the King, Sutarna prepares with the chief Kohan, Benel, for the Festival of Ra'ash Yeni. They then perform a sacrifice of wine. Sutarna meets with his son in law, Etakkama, who disrespects the Gods. Sutarna thinks it's the gods that win battles whilst Etakkama believes in Millitary Stregnth. This leads Sutarna to threaten disinheriting Etakkama, who then plots to poison Sutarna, with the help of Latuha the clown. Then, they all go up onto the roof of the palace to drink. The Clown poisons Sutarna, then leaves. The guards catch the clown. Etakkama questions the clown and decides Biryawaza, king of Dimashq, is behind the poisoning even though it was really just Etakkama himself that poisoned Sutarna. And meanwhile in Dimashq, Mutba'al, the King of the Apirut plots with Biryawaza to destroy Qadesh, and sacrifices a small child to Yahu. Mutba'al wants to "Obliterate" Qadesh. Etakkama then executes a lot of people in conection to the poisoning plot, including Sutarna's widow. Ari Teshub is mad because Etakkama kills his Grandmother. Ari Teshub creates a plan: Kill the Apiru Giant Gilgag, who is raiding the countryside, to be put at the head of an army. Then he will be able to stop the evil of Etakkama and Mutba'al. Ari Teshub is placed alongside his brother, Niqmaddu, at the head of an army. THey are motivated to stop the apirut from sacrificing Babies. They march off to Enishasi, where the Apirut are garisoned. Along the way, Ari Teshub performs miracles of the god Ba'al Hadad. When they arive at Enishasi, they meet with the son of the king, Abdi Risha, to plot to overthrow the Apirut. To seal the Alliance, Ari Teshub marries Abdi Risha's sister. However, it's not long before he duels the Apiru chief, Ahadyahu, who is struck down with Ba'al's Lightning. After defeating the Apirut of Amqu, Ari Teshub returns home to save Qadesh from the Apiru Threat. Meanwhile, the Apirut are sacrificing Babies to Yahu. Ari Teshub prays to the gods, to protect Qadesh. After Etakkama dies, Ari Teshub takes control of Qadesh and defeats the vast Apiru Hordes, with the help of the gracious gods, because the gods will support the righteous.

Life isn't a story that someone "tells" to you. You find yourself in the middle of it, and you can't see everything coming. And even if present is future of past we've got no memory. As a palindrome, we keep going on even while we're going backward: in girum imus nocte et consumimur igni.

After Mars is a partly animated documentary weaving personal accounts of tank crewman, Bomber Command and civilian experiences from World War II. The title is comes from a poem written during the war by Frances M. Miller, believed to be a Canadian Field Ambulance serviceman.
