Summary It's raining outside, which means that Mr. Anthony has to postpone what was the scheduled outside garden day for the class. Although Mr. Anthony replaces that time with free play inside, Austin is feeling sad about the postponement of garden day, as he wanted to see the sunflower he planted. To help Austin get rid of the pouty lip, hand on the chin feeling, Mr. Anthony shows him how to do the gnome comb. It helps but still doesn't stop Austin from wanting to go to the garden to see his sunflower. So Mr. Anthony tells him a Napkin Man story, this one about a gnome named Tone, who lived in a musical garden, the music only whenever it rained. So Tone was sad when the rain stopped, not only for himself but also for his gnome friends who were also sad because the music stopped. Mr. Anthony showed him that there were other ways for the garden concert to proceed to make him and his friends happy.
