Summary Kendra is the only student who doesn't want to play with the class' new pet hamster. She admits she gets the shivers from hairy animals with scratchy claws, she more attuned to soft, squishy animals like dolphins and whales. Mr. Anthony teaching her the shiver shimmy may make her feel less nervous, but it still doesn't alleviate her fear of hairy, and what she perceives as scratchy-clawed animals like hamsters. So Mr. Anthony tells her a Napkin Man story where he helped his friend, Cindy the dolphin, become friends with another creature that she was initially scared of, namely Wanda the whale.
