Traditionally the ringing of the church bell always starts the market. Everyone tries different ways to get Cedric down but nothing works until Pat has the bright idea of luring him down with music. The Reverend plays a variety of instruments, ending with a boogie-woogie solo on the piano. Cedric is charmed down and the Midsummer Market can get underway.
