Summary Settling the deal with Lord Neverember for their delivery of Wildsong, the group accepts his offer to stay at Castle Never - an offer that his valet later clarifies was definitely intended as a bribe to stay quiet about the Lord buying illicit drugs. On their way into the castle, the group meets Taran Q'Vore, who is disgusted by Dirty Hank's smell and uncleanliness, so Neverember's valet Golmar hustles them away to their rooms to bathe and dress in tailored finery before attending the evening banquet. Before dinner starts, Q'Vore overhears guests plotting, and the coup is sprung as a waiter serves poisoned food to Neverember and other plotters try to poison everyone in the party. Q'Vore flies Neverember to safety as the Baes - with a little help from Hadal - murder most of the usurpers.
