Summary Issabelle Barret is trying her best to run away from a terrible orphanage that she has been placed in after the death of her father, Harold. As a policeman captures her and takes her to the carriage she complains about the way the officer has a black horse tied up in back. Upon arrival to the orphanage Bella unties the horse and has him run away. Later she again runs away and finds her way to a ship where she stows away. The ship runs into a reef and breaks up. Bella is washed ashore and rescued by a Black Horse. She's found by Connie and Ted. Dr. Austin is rushed to the scene and takes her to his farm. They are followed by the horse who Bella calls Beauty. Even Bella is shocked when she realizes that she has no memory of who she is.
