Summary Sea Otters are a keystone species in that they help keep their ecosystem in balance. At one point, humans hunted sea otters almost to extinction for their fur. But now, the major threats are pathogens, parasites, and oil spills. Join host Jeff Corwin as he travels to the California Coast and works with the men and women of the Monterey Bay Aquarium to learn more about sea otter pups, place them in maternal care at the aquarium, and help them develop survival skills for their eventual release. It's a monumental effort, but all worth it, to save these fascinating creatures.
