Summary Spirou and Fantasio return to Champignac and find an empty castle. The Count was kidnapped by the king of disguise Rasputnikov, who was dressed up as mayor. They start to search for him and they recognize that the village looks different and the people are not happy to see them. On their way back to the castle, the bridge is melting. Furthermore they see that the river is polluted with a green stinking mixture. They keep the track and end up in an old factory, which is the command center of Rasputnikov. He keeps the Count there to blackmail him with his knowledge. His aim is to get world domination with the knowledge. Spirou and Fantasio can escape from an attack and the Count develops a bomb out of chewing gum, with which they can destroy the factory. In the end the good guys win and the mayor has to apologize.
