Summary Spirou and Fantasio are in Africa to write a story about poachers and they just get caught by them. But then strange things happen: It is in the night, when a mob of white, lightning elephants attack the camp. In the confusion, Spirou and Fantasio can free themselves, but Spip is left behind. They get a tip from a parking attendant that they should search in an old mission station. And actually there is an old Doc Touala, who constructed a machine, which can control the manners of animals. He wanted to stop the poachers with the help of the white elephants. But it appears that the parking attendant used them to follow the track of the Doc and that he is part of the poachers. Despite that, the white elephants act in the right way and our heroes can catch the poachers.
