Summary When Spirou and Fantasio want to visit their friend the Count of Champignac, they see that he is on a trip away. Spip sees an open atlas and this is how they know where the Count is. They find out that the Count searches for the legendary isle of immortality and they land on the isle as well. They see the Count's yacht but there is no sign of him. When Spirou, Fantasio and Spip search for him, they get caught by pirates and are dragged to a cave. The Count is also caught there. He informs the others about the isle: the isle has mushrooms which make you immortal when you eat them. The mushrooms are the staple diet of the pirates, but they don't know that they are already there for several centuries.
