The house dwarf's master orders him to revert the knave's transformation, so he and his raven helper must find Nils fast. The geese leader Akka makes him forage on his own 'like them', not so easy for a farm-raised human. Thus he faces the fox Smirre, who hates and wants to eat both fowl and mini-human, but Nils manages to outsmart him.
