Summary Guinevere finds herself on trial for her life after Mordred accuses her of adultery with Sir Lancelot, leading for him to call for her to be burned at the stake. Bors resigns his position as a knight in protest and joins forces with an escaped Lancelot to rescue Guinevere from her funeral pyre. But the rescue results in the deaths of two of the knights, leading to Mordred to persuade Arthur to go and seek revenge on her with an army to France, where they are hiding out.
