Summary Hellman throws a lavish party where most of the inhabitants come. David goes along, as does the building site manager Wyndham and his foreman Martin Preece, but David fails to spot Helene there at the party talking to Preece. Meanwhile Eric Morrison goes to meet the new buyer at a deserted warehouse to arrange a deal for the treasure he had found, only to find someone there he wasn't expecting. And when he doesn't return home the next day his girlfriend Maria contacts Inspector Dimas, who begins to have second thoughts and questions David again on his story. And it is there that he becomes intrigued by one of the photographs in David's brother's wallet.
