Summary Fred, Sam and Samantha travel back to late 17th century Russia to search for the Star of Vladivostok. The star is a great ruby that used to belong to the family of Sam and Samantha's Grandpa Dima. Their search brings them in contact with Peter the Great who is trying to bring technological reforms to Russia. They become involved in his plans to build St. Petersburg but discover that the leader of the rebels who oppose Peter is their ancestor Alexander Kikin...who Peter has sentenced to death.
