Summary Realizing Thomas has turned against DATS and pledged allegiance to their arch-enemy Kurata, Marcus is filled with uncontrollable rage. This causes him to unintentionally bring about the Burst Mode. However, because Marcus can't refrain his negative emotions, the Burst Mode is corrupted, making ShineGreymon run amok. Fortunately, Kristy arrives to calm Marcus down, and he sees the error of his ways. But it is too late to stop ShineGreymon's rampage. Feeling hopeless, Marcus sheds tears streaming onto his digivice causing ShineGreymon to revert back to self-destruct and return to his digi-egg form. Meanwhile, Kurata reveals his real plan to Thomas, his new partner. In a previous trip to the Digital World, Kurata had found an ancient Digimon named Belphemon. Belphemon's strength was so fearsome that the other Digimon had imprisoned his digi-egg in a large tomb. Kurata brought him back and kept him in a state of suspended animation, waiting to use him as the ultimate weapon to take over both the Digital World, and the Human World. Keenan overhears Kurata's plan, and runs off with Crowmon to tell the others, but Thomas and MirageGaogamon go after them. Thomas tells Kurata he is willing to stop Keenan personally in order to further win Kurata's trust. True to his word, Thomas and Miragegaogomon track down Keenan and Crowmon. Keenan begs helplessly for Marcus' help! But without Agumon, Marcus is unable to do anything but watch as Miragegaogomon blasts his two friends into the harbor.
