Summary Warren steals a box of matches from Logger Vick and gives it to the bears. To demonstrate to the other two what a match are used for, Briar lights a match and then throws it away, which accidentally sets Bramble's tail on fire. Bramble has to roll out of the hollow to put out the fire. At that moment, the smell of barbecue wafts through the forest towards them. They follow the scent to Vick's house, where he is having a barbecue by himself. Bramble and Briar sneak up and eat the barbecue while Vick is not paying attention.
