Summary A Mountie whom Clive knows is brought to town by an Indian woman and he's been shot. Clive mentions the man is not popular with the Mounties because he's sympathetic to the Indians. When he regains consciousness he says he helped Sitting Bull who was captured by American soldiers escape. They shot him. So as he heals, the Americans come to town and are determined to arrest him. But Craddock stops them for a while. They later learn the woman is pregnant with the Mountie's child. And when he dies they worry what will become of her and their child.
