Summary The pale boy, through Nuzuna asks Dr. Ryuzo to save Midori. Commander Kakisu wants her completely transformed for the Great Pilgrimage in 10 days but Dr. Kanba says it's two early to send her out. Kakisu has his own way of persuading the doctor. The general resigns, one of many others who leave the commander's ranks. Dr. Ryuzo meets Midori's father later, and it's assumed the doctor warns the father. In the north, Nakiami and Yango witness the southern army attack Tessik village, even when they surrender. Kujireika takes things into her own hands while her people flee, revealing a secret she knows of Nakiami. Only one soldier stands by her as the rest leave the city. Akiyuki and Haru make it to the Holy Land where the Great Pilgrimage will take place and meet some one who will help them into the Quickening Chamber, an odd dome in the middle of the lake.
