Summary Christmas weekend: Just as quietly, quite imperceptibly and without anyone thinking about it, Christmas slowly begins to return to the cityscape. Pyrus has found his beloved hat inside Bertramsen's office. With an ingenious device that Guttenborg cobbles together, they try to save the delicious, hypercodile hat. Bertramsen examines the time around King Valdemar, and this causes Miss Brahe to break out into "song of love" about three old kings. The three goblins travel this time to the year 1157, where they meet Denmark's greatest historian Saxo. He talks about the Christmas weekend, and in the middle of it all, Valdemar appears dressed as a Christmas goat. Valdemar is invited to the gnome's home.
