Summary Guthrie goes hunting with Brian, but can't accept his killing the majestic buck. "Old Scarback", a mountain lion, has been killing local stock. The ranchers have hired a hunter to kill it, but Adam wants to tranquilize it. He points out that the people moved onto Old Scarback's land and the cougar is just acting like a cougar.
