A criminal gang hatches a plan to make money off of newly outlawed films.

Lord Henry Chelford, hiding behind a dignified face and the uncertain step of an old man the signs of former worldliness; his younger brother Richard Chelford, radiating manly confidence, concern for the family tradition and its immaculate shield; the Lord's young, fragile fiancee, Jane Harper, her generous aunt in all things, nephew Arthur, a London barrister and a man without scruples, Lord's secretary, the attractive blonde Mary Brown, Dr Freeman, a doctor always on the verge of boldly correct handling of situations. There is also the old butler, knowing all his master's wishes and their true content.
