Summary 'So Long, Spanky': D.W. has a pet bird named Spanky that she likes because he annoys Arthur, and she can dress him up. But then Spanky becomes sick and dies, and she doesn't want to replace him with any other pet. However, when a toad comes into the Reads' yard and follows D.W. around, she gets frustrated because it won't go away./'Buster's New Friend': Instead of hanging out with Arthur, Buster hangs out with his new friend Mike. Buster boasts about how good Mike is at miniature golf and bowling. Arthur and Buster are supposed to do a science project together, but Arthur is always stuck doing it himself, so Arthur is mad that Buster spends so much time with Mike.
