KONTROBERSYAL is one of the classic masterpieces of acclaimed stage and film director Lino Brocka in the historical period of the 1980s. A story set in the glitter and glamour of the showbiz world. Behind the bright lights, fabulous costumes, and larger-than-life sets, real lives are broken and shattered for the hunger for fame and the thirst for money. Karina Daluz (Gina Alajar) was blinded by the ill promise of success offered by her producer Mers Madsen (played by Charo Santos). Her walk toward the path to stardom entailed her sanity and corrupted her soul. Her innocence was replaced by wickedness and her once good-natured self has become the demon that she feared. No love that is forever, no hope to discover for all the people living in KONTROBERSYAL.

This film is based on true events. This is a story about love, abuse ,deceit, betrayal, life and death as it follows a woman finding herself worth and courage as she discovers who she is after being forced to face her mortality at the hands of an abusive man.

Franz Roberti, orchestra conductor with multiple girlfriends, meets aspiring composer Constance through Professor Thalma. They marry, honeymoon across Europe, but Constance leaves after finding Franz with a divorcee.

As a young Winston Churchill masterminds British involvement in the First World War, his wife Clementine serves to temper his enthusiasm for war lust and lays the groundwork for molding the future statesman.

Alberto Saporito spent a very eventful night. His friend Aniello Amitrano was brutally killed and his body was hidden by his neighbors, the Cimmarutas. But he can't remember if it was just a dream or if he actually lived it. That's why he shows up early to the police to file a complaint. At first, their different habits and personalities lead to numerous squabbles, intensified by Yuk's self-centeredness and Fen's odd temperament. As time goes on, Yuk learns Fen is in the early stages of Alzheimer's. The discovery unexpectedly serves as a catalyst for the young man's growth as a caring friend. For the first time in her life, Fen feels truly blessed. But the situation is rife with irony because of the nature of her disease and the accelerating elusiveness of feelings and memories.
