Summary May of 1967: The men of the US Army's 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division are on a search and destroy mission in the jungles of Vietnam's Central Highlands when they run headlong into a massive force of North Vietnamese soldiers on the Cambodian border. In a savage battle known as the "Nine Days in May", outnumbered American troops fight a series of intense close-quarters firefights against well-armed Communists. When the smoke clears, hundreds of enemy soldiers are dead and three men are awarded the Medal of Honor and their unit has earned the coveted Presidential Unit Citation.
