They secure major victories in battles on the 8th and 9th of August, going on for the next 10 days. The Germans retreat to the Hindenburg Line and prepare to hold their ground. At the town of Arras, the Canadians prepare for the last push eventually leading to their last great battle near Mons on November 10, 1918. The armistice took effect the next day.
