Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye is an Indian television show, which premiered on 7 October 2014 on Life OK.[1] The show is an Indian soap opera produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner Balaji Telefilms. The show marks the debut of Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre on Indian television in fiction genre.[2][3][4] The title of the show Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye is inspired from the song of 1960 Bollywood film, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai which was originally sung by the veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar.[5] The initial plot of the series is similar to the US television show The Good Wife.

As a high school student, Jung Woo isn't exactly at the top of his class's social hierarchy. In fact, as one who is bullied daily, Jung Woo could easily be considered one of the lowest, most unlucky students in his entire school. Struggling every day just to get by, Jung Woo does everything he can to hang on long enough to graduate. But when Jae Seong and his cronies decide to hold a fighting tournament among the school's weakest students, Jung Woo finds himself caught up in the school's biggest, most talked-about event of the year. Determined not to lose, Jung Woo heads to the gym to train, but it isn't until he meets the school's new transfer student, Min Ah, that he finds the inspiration he needs to truly fight back.

Sadia and Zobia are sisters raised with strict family values by their father Hamid. Sadia is married to Ahmar but her rukhsati is on hold while the family waits for her uncle's return from America. Zobia on the other hand is having an affair with Umair. When she invites Umair to Sadia's birthday to introduce him to her family, Sadia does not approve of the rich and spoilt Umair. As the meeting between Umair and both sisters is taking place - Hamid and Ahmer along with his family arrives at the party to surprise Sadia on her birthday. Ahmer misreads the situation completely and assumes that it is actually his wife who is interested in Umair. In a fit of rage Ahmar divorces Sadia on the spot and leaves her. Dejected and helpless Sadia will now have to build a new life in the face of adversity, her father's pressure and her sister's opposition. In this story of abandonment, hatred and revenge - will Sadia and Zobia ever reconcile, will they get the men they wanted in their lives or will their fates be decided by the harshness of time and chance.
