Exiled Prospero lives on a desolate island with his daughter, Miranda. When Prospero's usurping brother sails by the island, Prospero conjures a storm that wrecks the ship and changes all of their lives.

When millionaire John Saunders threatens to disinherit his son Wallace if he marries circus rider Queen Tina, Wallace elopes with Tina and becomes a trapeze performer. They lead a happy life until Tina dies giving birth to their daughter Alice. Years later, when the circus passes through Wallace's hometown, John, regretting his action, attends and witnesses Wallace's death by trapeze accident. Alice, now a circus rider herself, goes to live with John, who, despite Alice's antics involving her pet pig Rudolph, sliding down the stairs on a tray, and vaulting over the furniture, grows fond of her. When John tries to marry Alice to his sister's sissified son, she uses Rudolph to frighten him and his mother. After Alice and George Reynolds, whom she knew from the circus, fall in love and elope, John, thinking that George is after her fortune, is furious, but George proves his ability as a cartoonist and earns $1,000 a week to win John's admiration.

It follows the journey of Billie "Bunny" Gasper as a living marionette leads her though a remarkable toy store and... shows her the marvels of a rich world she's no longer part of. Problems occur when Billie realizes being a part of this world means giving up everything she once treasured. Now she must decide between remaining in the isolated fantasy world and going back to a bleak but loving life with her hard-working mother. We all want what we can't have and that's why audiences will identify with Billie as she realizes it's hard to know what you actually have until it's gone.

His mother dies while giving birth to Ismail. Therefore, his father, Haydar, blames his son for the death of his wife. He treats his other two sons better than Ishmael. Unable to stand this situation, Ismail leaves his father's farm and goes to Istanbul to work.
