Summary Young adventurer Koen Janssen and his girlfriend Eva Lanckhals are accused of murdering an old man in highway rest stop, but are each assigned another lawyer as pro bono defender. Eva's, novice Katrijn Denecker, keeps crossing Chris's defense for Koen, who refuses naively to doubt Eva and hopes a 'third man' will be found, but the only witness is mentally handicapped Benny Andersen, involved in a complex cash plot which Hugo discovers during the trial, while Stanny Michel expects him to rejoin the police and hence resign from the law firm, where Paul-Emile steps down formally too,.
