The effects and lessons of WWII are presented through the lens of a son who lost his father in the D-Day invasion seventy years ago. In the search to find any details about what happened to his father he learned much more than expected along the way.

Former British Army Captain Tom Moore looks back on his time during the Second World War in the brutal Burma campaign, as a million Allied troops from forty nations attempted to repel the invading forces of Imperial Japan from the British colony over almost three years, between 1941 and 1944, in what has since become known as The Forgotten War.

When Jonathan Webber told his English family he wanted to spend their money restoring an abandoned Jewish cemetery in a remote corner of southern Poland, they thought he'd finally lost it. Nobody knew just what he was getting into, or how the local Poles would react. What happened in that small town took everybody by surprise, and deeply affected families in London, New York and Sydney. It all began in a place hard to find on a map and impossible to pronounce - a town called Brzostek.

The election of Cardinal Pacelli as Pope in March 1939 was unquestionable. His spiritual and intellectual prestige was well established, with a proven diplomatic experience having been nuncio in Berlin and Secretary of State under Pius XI. However, in 1963, after a few years of his death, his reputation came to be questioned after the scandal caused by the premiere of the play The Deputy, by Rolf Hochhuth.
