Stefan Bryla was a member of the Sejm of the Second Polish Republic, and during World War II, dean of the secret Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. Involved in the resistance movement, he prepared instructions for the Kedyw Home Army "How to destroy steel bridges". Arrested by the Germans, he was shot in 1943.
