Summary Dreadwing and Fryte and his Draman ruin the Dragon Flyz' mission by destroying their amber cargo. Orac reveals an alternate way to collect amber, a machine called the Scavenger. But during its trial run under Amod, Peak's friend who has no respect for dragons including Dram's shared dragon Titan, Wing Storm is injured and with Orac's and especially Amod's indifference to them, all the dragons leave Airlandis. When the Dragon Flyz and Amod are forced to use the Scavenger during the next run, Dreadwing forces them to evacuate it and steals it to use it as a war machine, and they have no weapon, mechanical or beast, with which to stop him.
