The story of a freckle-faced washerwoman in whom a whole group of friends take an interest, with a sensual undertone of summer fun.

This true story took place in 1910 in Eastern Siberia, in the expanses of Yakutia. Yakut Stepan Beresekov periodically falls into a lethargic sleep. Only a Russian, the son of a priest, Ivan Popov, can distinguish his condition from real death. But Popov leaves for a long ethnographic expedition. Stepan decides to follow his savior so as not to be buried alive.

Slava leaves behind his job in deliveries and transportation, as well his wife who doesn't understand him, to pursue his dream of becoming a dowsing psychic. As failures accumulate, he becomes discouraged about his gift-until he inadvertently manages to perform a miracle: create a moth out of nothing. The mere insect turns out to be enough for a dangerous secret society to now want to meet Slava in person.
