Mark Kostabi, along with Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kenny Scharf and others, emerged in the 1980's as a member of a group of East Village artists who set out to redefine the role of the artist and art. Like Haring's 'Crawling Baby' and Koons' 'Puppy,' Kostabi's iconography includes the archetypal 'Everyman' figure - an androgynous, faceless, universal person that communicates easily and speaks directly with the public. Kostabi's figures, which are still the basis of his art today, embody themes of dislocation that reflect loneliness and alienation in a complex world that is overwhelmed by media and technology.

The Backyard Philly Project delves into the lives of four teens growing up in Penn Town, an inner-city neighborhood, and how their involvement with Helping Hand Rescue Mission has given them hope for a better life through tutoring and other character-building activities aimed at young people.

The Anarchist Rabbi, an experimental documentary, follows in the footsteps of Rudolf Rocker, an anarchist who campaigned with London's East End Jewish migrants 100 years ago. Steven Berkoff narrates Rocker's ghost who has returned to re-visit the places that were significant to him and explores how urban development forces us to forget working-class history and political struggle.
