In a world where so many are searching for meaning, we now have the opportunity, for the first time in human history, to be part of something absolutely amazing. We, the generations alive right now, could be the ones to end hunger and extreme poverty everywhere. We've cut both in half since 1970, and now it's time to finish the job...to make poverty history. EVERY THREE SECONDS tells the compelling stories of five everyday people (a kid, a college student, a thirty-something and two seniors) who stepped up and took action in the fight against hunger and poverty, and who, in the process, ended up both transforming themselves and changing the world.

You won't see beads, incense or New Age types in this film that breaks the stereotype of meditation and the kinds of people who do it. The film provides a portrait of a highly driven and ambitious entrepreneur and three of her Type A employees, far from the New Age poster children that one might associate with a technique that originated in Eastern spiritual traditions. The film follows these individuals in their stressful workplace and after hours with their families - lifting weights, coaching football, riding motorcycles and disco dancing. Initially skeptical, they all experienced a surprising change in their lives. The film ends with a moving tribute to the entrepreneur's father, who encouraged his rebellious entrepreneurial daughter to meditate almost 40 years ago.

The bicycle messenger has been a fixture of the Washington DC landscape for decades. This mini-documentary explores a handful of the present day road warriors as they battle traffic and technology in pursuit of a fair wage and a freewheeling style of life. This is a preliminary cut, currently in post-production wrap up. Produced as part of the Corcoran School of Art + Design New Media Photojournalism Masters Program by Fixed-Focus Productions.
